error in material split valuation

Hi,

I have configured a new plant in ECC 6.0.

There is a requirement to maintain the material as split valuated (STR_P_DOM and STR_P_IMP). I have created the material with valuation category as "S" and price control as "V". While extending the same material for valuation type as STR_P_DOM if I press F4 function key in field valuation class, there is no selection available and if I manually type the valuation class as "9401" and press enter key, there is an error message as under:

"Valuation class 9401 not allowed for valuation type STR_P_DOM"

Request for your help in finding the cause and solution to this problem.

Hi,

As I understand, you have valuation category as "S" and have two valuation types STR_P_DOM and STR_P_IMP.

You have material with price control as "V" and want have valuation type STR_P_DOM in the material master.

1st cross check did you enter / have valuation category as "S" and valuation class 9401 in the same material master.

Material master with valuation type can have new price in accounting -1 view.

Also check did plant activated for split valuation (OMWC) and did plant with material activated for QUANTITY and VALUE updation(OMS2).

NOTE:

Have cross check your material type assignment to account category reference and Valuation class assigned to account category reference(OMSK).

Please go to T code OMWC and maintain your Account category reference(Put 9401) for your global valuation types.

And also check that your valuation category S is Allocated to your valuation type.(whether it is active or not).

And also check that your valuation category S is Allocated to your Plant..(whether it is active or not)

Also check your local defination you might have not active the plant active the same there.

Then go to MM01 create a Material and put only yours valuation category in Accting view 1 dont put any valuation class and save the material.

then go to MM02 put your material number and select accounting view 1 the screen will pop up and will ask you the plant(valuation area) and your valuation type for which material has to be valuated and as soon you enter you can put your valuation class 9401.

Hi,

OMSK settings are same as are there for other plants. The plant in question is a new plant configured.
