Dear Team,

I am trying to create the document PRT in CV01n. While creating the document in CV01N for PRT, which indicator specifies that it is a document PRT?

while creating PRT in IE01 (equipment PRT), i am specifying the equipment category as "P" to indicate PRT. Similar way, how to specify the document PRT while creating the document in CV01n?

Is the document PRT created based on the document type selection in CV01n?

If so, in SPRO->Cross Application component>DMS->Control Data->Define document type. While creating the new document type in SPRO, which field indicates this document type is relevant for PRT?

Is it possible to provide the grouping key 1 and grouping key 2 details for document PRT as well like other PRTs?

Please guide.

Hi,

Document Type on selection screen of CV01N defines the type of Document.

Type-DRF determines that it is PRT Document.

Hello PSK,

As such there no indicator in Doc Type config to determine that it's for PRT or some other... Coz there is no any other configuration link of it to anywhere.

So you just need to define your own Doc Type with description specifying that it's for PRT. And I believe if there is no specific business requriement in your case then go for standard type-DRF.

Hope it will help.

Hi Anup,

When i am creating the material PRT, Equipment PRT and Miscellaneous PRT, i can give the grouping key 1 and grouping key 2 values. But when i create the document PRT in CV01n with doc type DRF, i can not find the field to enter the grouping key 1 and grouping key 2 values.

Is the grouping key 1 and grouping key 2 are not valid for document PRTs?

Hi PSK,

If I am not wrong, when you're saying Grouping1 & 2, it means 'Authorization Group'.

Then it would be there for all objects even for PRT type-DRF.

Check IMG configuration related to it.

Hi Anup,

I am not refering authorization group. when we create PRT in CF01, we can enter the grouping key 1 and grouping key 2 know. I can not find these grouping key 1 and grouping key 2 for document PRTs.

Why these grouping keys are not available for document PRTs?

Hi PSK,

I'm bit lost here... you're creating PRT in CF01 where you can have Grouping Key1 & 2 whereas a PRT document is being created in CV01N which do not have this field included.

May I missing anything?

Hi Anup,

You are right. But my question is we have the feilds Grouping Key1 & 2 in transaction CF01. But we do not have the feilds Grouping Key1 & 2 in transaction CV01N. Why?

Hi PSK,

Thing is it's all SAP definitions...

But to answer your question- in CF01, SAP has not provided any field on initial screen to distinguish the PRT's & hence a Grouping Key is made available whereas in CV01N, a Document Type itself distinguishes the data you're creating in SAP whether it's PRT document or something else and hence SAP doesn't felt any need of field like Grouping Key in CV01N.

Hope my reply makes sense.

Anup
