Hi Experts,

I made a posting on 30th Sept. However, after posting the posting date is being reflected as 1st Oct.

Any updates would be appreciated.

Document date will be your invoice date and posting date the system automatically picks the date i.e current date. Thanks.

Hi Irene,

Ideally yes.
But the system is picking N+1 as the posting date as soon as I submit it i.e. the posting date should be 30th Sept but the system is picking 1st Oct as the posting date.

P.S. : Both the periods are open.

Posting Date is the date on which you want to post a document & Document date is the date on which you enter a document. Both can be different or same as you want.

Hi,

lets take an example:

Ther is goods receipt happening on 9th sep, 2008 along with it the invoice also comes dated 8th sep, 2008.

Suppose u post the entry on the same date in ur SAP system the day u recvd the goods, i.e. u credit the vendor on good receipt date, then the document date in this case will be 8th sep, 2008. the posting date will be 9th Sep, 2008.

The entry date is the actual date on which u make entry in SAP the system date. So entry date can be diffrent from posting date in this case

thanx

Hi,

If you receive a Invoice from a vendor, the invoice is having a date which is called as document date.

Posting Date is when when you post that document in the SAP system that is called posting date.

Entry date system automatically captures this date which you can see in the header data.

hi,

Posting Date: Date which is used when entering the document in Financial Accounting or Controlling. The posting date can differ from both the entry date and the doc date.

Document Date: The document date is the date on which the original document was issued. Ex: Inv date, Bill date etc.,

For Eg if you would like to post a document for 31-08-2008 on today.

In this case posting date: 31-08-2008

entry date :08-09-2008.

Hope, this will helps you out...
