What is dispatch in Capacity Leveling?

What is the difference between Dispatch & Scheduling?

Hi,

The main objective of capacity levellings are

Levelling of overloads and underloads at work centers.

This can be done by dispatching the operations.Operations are dispatched to the time when there sufficient capacity

for them to be executed.

Scheduling function calculates when the operation has to start

and when it has to be finished.

Dispatch mean that you send the order into the time axis exactly. After you dispatch the order in capacity leveling and save it, then this order (planned order or PrO) will be firmed automatically. Dispatch also mean that you reserve the time in production for the order.

Scheduling just determine when the order should be process or executed and its finished date.

Difference between scheduling and dispatch is scheduling doesn't reserve time but dispatch reserve time in production.

Dispatch is used to allocate load to a specific Work Center or Within a Work Center to a Individual Capacity. Scheduling is done at the Workcenter level to get the start and end dates for operation.

Hi,

Dispatching: Depending on the Priority and as per the requirement if u want to change the Production dates, u will manually allocate the Production orders to the required dates. Select an Order from the Orders(Pool) and select the tab"Dispatch" at the top,based on the strategy profile the order will be dispatched.Also u can dispatch by Drag and drop

Diff between Dispatching and Scheduling:

Scheduling is the process by which the system calculates the start and finish dates and the Dispatching is the process of allocating the work centres with the required Production order as per the priority.
