​Difference between fixed quantity and bulk material

Please I need a clear explanation with example

If in BOM component details you mark it as a Fixed quantity. Say 10 after that if you create the order for 200 quantities then the system will plan this component as 10 only. If you remove this fixed quantity indicator then the system will plan it as 200.

Bulk material will not be considered in MRP and dependent requirements will not be created. You have to plan separately with consumption-based planning. An example of this is cotton waste/ Grease etc. You can not calculate consumption for this for 1 product. Say Grease you may use a quarter spoon. so you don't want MRP to generate a demand for it. So you buy it in bulk when Total grease goes down to 10 KG from a 100 KG drum and place purchase order.
