Custom CDS View - Two Source Aggregation

Hello,

I'm developing a custom CDS view with 2 sources.

I have a question about the aggregation in the "Element Properties".

Do you know if the aggregation only works for the primary source fields?

When I add the secondary source and in the aggregation I try the "SUM" doesn't work.

How are you? I have excluded the Tag "SAP S/4HANA Cloud" and included the Tag "SAP S/4HANA Cloud Extensibility" for this question, as Custom CDS Views are related to Extensibility.

Hi Francisco,

The aggregation works for primary and associated fields.

Aggregations are used to define the interpretation of numeric data e.g. in an analytical scenario. As a result to setting an aggregation, a field is e.g. interpreted as measure when you use it in a custom analytical query later on. That's why you must define an aggregation behavior for each numeric field in an analytical scenario, except for the representative key. Optionally, you can also define timestamps and dates as measures if this is required for your business case.

As far as i know , aggregation do not only works for the primary source fields.
