CONTROL CODE/CHAPTER ID

HELLO EVERYONE,

CAN SOMEONE EXPLAIN ME IN DETAIL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CONTROL CODE AND CHAPTER ID??????

chapter IDs are created as per the Govt regulations for diff products as per excise requirements

i dont think i am able to make it clear.

lets try once:

my client is facing a symptom that chapter id is not updated in T604F table for control code.

while going thru the sap note 977764 we found that it is happening due to module update_t604f was missing which our basis person can fix.

now my query is after fixing the problem where should i check to see that the error is further not occuring.

whether i should create a new chapter id or control code??????????

I suggest not to do anything and wait for some time after module updation.

the reason behind my query was in J1ID we have removed all the chapter ids.

so to see if the moudle updation has effeected will i create a new chapter id and then run the table T604F to see if it has taken the id??

Hi,

Hopefully you are not doing in PRD server.Since J1ID is master data for CIN i do not think it is advisable to remove all chapter ids during business transactions/process.

no,we r doing it in development.

we have already removed it from J1ID nd maintained it as control code through material master.

its correct

when u create the chapter id the system have to updata table T604F

which is not happaning in ECC6 its a teble of control code

now after appling SAP note system will update T604F table and u will not get the error

u will have to delete all the entrienm in J1ID fopr chapter ID and creat once again

or u can directely upload those chapter ids in that table of control code

after appling that note system will do it for all new chapter id which u will create after appling this note
