Choosing multiple implementation partner

Hello Everyone,

Greetings!

Scenario: What if 2 different partners are implementing the same scope on one system following a sequential approach, Partner "A" for company "1" and Partner "B" in country "2".  Functional scope is same, but solution design documents are different for both companies, although baseline configuration is almost same as it pertains to 'client level' settings.

Question is : Are there any SAP guidelines/framework in this scenario, definitely its not something new, that's case for global implementations where several partners are working in several geographies at the same time

  • What are SAP best practices about this, any methodologies?
  • Are there any SAP technical guides/framework for this, to soundly manage the roles/risk associated
  • Any reference to real world scenarios

Appreciate your feedback, Thanks,

Mubashir

Hi mubashirshahzad ,

Thank you for sharing.

Overall, a recommendation is to track configuration items using the accelerators on roadmap viewer and maintain comments for each SSCUI configured in manage your solution. This helps in maintaining traceability and accountability.

Similarly, as each partner may be working on extensibility items (ex, custom report, custom field, form template extension etc). I suggest establishing clear guidelines on how to manage software collections that are transported to the production environment in parallel to the configuration maintained in mange your solution. Furthermore, please keep in mind localization specific requirements that would need to be addressed by each partner.

Based on the S4HC ES projects I have worked on involving multiple partners, typically a partner focuses on a specific function/module like for instance partner A is responsible for the US tax solution integration whereas partner B is responsible for the implementation of functional processes. Similar to your use-case.

Below please find relevant accelerators to managing configuration activity.
