Dear Gurus,
For rawmaterial we are giving availabity check 01 and for header we are giving 02.What is the difference between these two?
Secondly.can anybody tell the various combinations of availabity check and Collective indicater.for ex,availabilty check 01 and collective indicater 01 how system will respond in various combinations?
Please through some light on these issues

Hi,
For components , The Checking group (Av check) indicator in MRP3 view is used in Availability Check , to determine the scope of check in combination with the Checking Rule from Order type /OPPQ.
Also , at FERT level it is used for passing the requirements.
whereas the Indiv/Coll indicator in MRP4 view is valid only for components and will work only in MTO scenario.

Sheik

Hi Guna
Checking group 01 Daily and 02 is individual
If you give 01 daily, the requirments ie if you give number of sale order with same date of requirment. It will be cumulated on daily basis for further processing. Sale order will not get displayed in MD 04 stock requirement
If you give 02 individual. The sale order will be displayed individually and it will not be cumulated for further processing. Sale order will be displayed in MD 04.

Hi Guna
User thread has been discussed in details as below.
Availability check
For MTO availability check is at Sales order level. Since all the production items are trigger after sales order. So the setting for this is you have to do at Requirement class Level.
Please go to IMG- Sales and distribution-Demand management- Define requirement class. where you can see settings for Availability check. Other as per MTS setting.
Below the Availability at MTS is explanied in detail
Question 1 :-
For rawmaterial we are giving availabity check 01 and for header we are giving 02.What is the difference between these two?
Ans:-
Availability check is done for component level.
If FERT material has to be assembles, it will check whether the item for FERT ie is HALB is available for FERT production are not.
This is done at 3 stages normally in PP
First
At Plan order level. After running MRP Go to Plan order change mode and do manual component check. At this time production order is not generated. So Order type will not come into picture.
The data available to the system is only material master and Plant. So it will take checking rule from plant parameter and checking group from the material master and do scope of check control ( T code OPJJ ) combining PP and 02 or 01.( of the header material ). It will check for the header material whether the components ( items ) are available as per header setting. ( to include what type of stocks )
If MRP group is assigned in material master it will take checking rule from MRP group assigned not from plant parameter.
Question 2 :-
Secondly can anybody tell the various combinations of availabity check and Collective indicater.for ex,availabilty check 01 and collective indicater 01 how system will respond in various combinations?
Ans:-
Once the plan order is converted into production order at that time also Availability check is done via order type and bussiness transaction production order create.
At that time it will check for Checking Order control ( T code OPJK ). Whether to do Availability check. What type of check ATP or PIR
Then the availability check is done again at the time of production order release via order type and bussiness transaction order release. T code ( OPJK ) . whether to release the order eventhough if the parts are missing / User to decide / Not to release the order.
These are the basic settings. We can do availability check individually for each production order. Also Collective availability check in COMAC. I think No seperate IMG settings for Collective availability.
Hope this is clear

Guna,
The main difference between 01 and 02 in standard settings delivered by SAP is how the systems reponds to ATP check when a new requirement is created. With 01 the system considers only the committed quantity while calculating the ATP. But if you use 02 it will consider the total requirement quantity irrespective of whether it is committed or not.
Suppose you have a stock of 200 kg for the component X and you have 2 production orders with this component with qty 100 kg in each. One of the order you have committed quantity of 100 and the other committed is 0. Now when you create a new order with the same component with 01 setting in component the ATP check will say 100 kg is available. But with 02 the system would consider the total requirements and hence would not confirm any quantity.
