Characteristic Value Assignment

Hi All ,

Could you please guide to understand the following will be grateful.

In the production order component overview screen-MENU BAR is having following list

Order, Functions, Edit, Goto, u201CCOMPONENTu201D, Environment, System, Help.

In the above, if you left click the COMPONENT option there will be drill down option, in that there you have u201CCharacteristic Value Assignmentu201D

u2022 What is the functionality of this option (u201CCharacteristic Value Assignmentu201D) ?

u2022 If I select the BOM component in the component overview and I left click the COMPONENT option in the menu bar and select the u201CCharacteristic Value Assignmentu201D what will happenu2026.

Example:

I have material # AZ12345 (Batch Management activated), which is used as a component and it has a classification values defined in BOM.

For Ex: Material # AZ12345 having a

Characteristic Value

Size 10

Length 5

Width 4

Here is the issue:

I created a production order. In the change mode of component over view, I selected the component # AZ12345. Then in the menu bar- option, I left clicked the COMPONENT and selected the functionality u201CCharacteristic Value Assignmentu201D It open up a sub screen u201CCLASSIFICATION SELECTIONu201D In that following message with two push buttons are displayed.

Which classification data do you want to display?

Configuration Batch Classification

In the above I selected batch classification and I changed the characteristic value as 15 for Characteristic Size and I saved that order.

Now in display mode I selected the component and viewed batch classification values, it displayed the Characteristic size value as 10

Why the value is not getting updated for that order ?

What can I do to get the changed value? (New value u201C15u201D for Characteristic SIZE)

Hi,

Can you set the following settings in CT04-Change characteristics as follows

1) Values tab tick the Additional values

2) Basic data Multiple values radio button
