Base Quantity

Dear All ,

What is the exact meaning and use of Base quantity ?

like while we make Ref OP Set???

While we use it in BOM ??

Sarfraz,

Base quantity is basically the Numerator and the Operation quantity or Component quantity is the denominator which forms the ratio for calculating the Operation or Component quantity when an order is created.

Example:

Base Qty of BOM A = 10EA

It needs Component B = 100EA

Component ratio = 100/10 = 10

Now when an order for A is created for a quantity of 100 the calculation performed by the system would be 100x10(factor) = 1000EA as required quantity to make 100EA of A.

Base quantity

All component quantities in a BOM refer to the base quantity

Systen calcutes the required qty of the components for any order qty with reference to that Base Qantity.

Required qty of Component for order

= Order Qty/Base Qty X Component Qty in BOM

Hi Sarfaraz: -

Quantity to which all component quantities in a BOM relate, is know as base quantity.

E.g.

If you are creating a BOM or Recipe or Routing for Mfg of Material A for quantity 100

Then you will be in need of Componant Z in 100 qnty, Componant Y in 50qnty (defined in BOM.

Three machine operators for operation 0010 (Defined in Routine, Recipe etc...)

So the STD quantity on which you are calculating your Utility,Resources, and Component (Material) calculation is concerned as Base quantity.

Hi,

To produce a header qty, required item qty ie, base qty 1 no.

Say to produce 1 FERT qty, required ROH 1 qty means base qty is 1 no.

Suppose to produce 1 FERT, required ROH 2 no's means, item base qty is 2 no's.
