Automatic Shift Schedule

Hello  I am new to Shift Planning. We have client requirement as follows. Requirement:- SAP System should automatically assign work schedule rule to employees working in particular organizational unit for the following 3 rotating shifts consists of 6 days a week  with 2 shift engineers in each shift of a day. 1).A-Night Shift (10PM-8AM) 2).B-Morning Shift (8AM -4PM) 3) C-Evening Shift (4PM-10PM) SAP System should automatically create 3 different shifts for the same day, same shift and for the same employee as mentioned below. All the 3 shifts combinations would be sent to Chief of Organizational Unit for approval. Once Chief of Org Unit approves, Employees would work in A, B and C-Shift according their work schedule for that month. Again, if an employee supposes to work in A shift wants to work in B shift, approval is required for the same using ESS/MSS and once chief of Org Unit approves, Employee’s shift will be changed from A to B. Incase if an employee working B shift do not show up, employee working in A-Shift should continue the B Shift. If an employee continues working in B-Shift, he/she should get comp off next day and also additional payment of Rs.1200 for working in B-Shift.  I would like to know 1.     Is approval is possible for shift approval in ESS/MSS? 2.     Is approval is possible to shift change in ESS/MSS.? 3.     What are the configuration settings to be done for shift scheduling in SAP R/3? 4.     Whether Standard SAP supports this requirement or any Enhancement or any development is involved to meet this requirement? Awaiting a reply from SAP HR fraternity. Hi Omid,

I have gone through the solution which you have provided,to some extent,it would solve my issue.

I think my requirement is more of personnel shift planing,It involves job profiles and for each day,for the same employee 3 different shift patterns  need to be created.All the 3 shift patterns will be sent to chief of Org Unit,once it is approved,employee would start work as per shift in rotating shift environment.

just want to check if you got any idea about shift planning,where we should create shift group infotype in OM that will be linked to org unit,need to create profile with qualifications etc.
