Assembly dynamic processing

Hello All,

I am a SD person trying to copy and change requirement class 201 to accomodate dynamic assembly processing. I have made the changes to the requirement class and while testing i am facing couple of issues.

1) When the order line item splits into multiple schedule lines, each having its own production order based on the component ATP, I see production order for future date is release and the production order which is schedule to finish current day is release rejected.

Example: Order line has 10 EA's, we have components available to make only 5 EA's. Order line is splitted into 2 schedule lines with 1st production order committed for current date and another production order committed in August. When i save the order, production order for the 1st schedule line which has current date (with available component qty's) is release rejected, while production order with schedule date in August is released.

2) When i put some stock in the system for the missing parts and do an material ATP on the production order, dates are not moved from august to current date, even though stock for components are available today. I have even tried doing an ATP check from Sales order, I get the ATP screen with August dates instead of current date. I guess thats because dates on production order still remain August.

Can someone help me figure this out on how to resolve this issue.

Thank you for your help in advance.

Hello Naga,

The behavior corresponds to the standard logic of the dynamic assembly processing. First only a production order is created temporarily. It is possible to derive two dates as delivery proposal from that.

The order finish date as a result of the lead time scheduling.

When you create the sales order item in the production order, the system automatically adjusts the order finish dates to the availability situation of the components. If there is a further availability check for the components of the production order, the system does not readjust the basic dates.

Please check the configuration of check control, for your order type and plant combination for business event 2 Check availability during order release

Release material     2  Release permitted despite missing par.

Please refer OSS note  799948 - FAQ: Dynamic assembly

Thank you for the response Brahmankar. Issue is SAP is releasing production orders with later dates and release rejecting production order with current date. There is no missing parts status set on the production order.

So, when i use dynamic processing , SAP is splitting the sales order line items into multiple schedule lines with corresponding production order. Material ATP is happening correctly on the production order. 1st production has finsihed date of 6/2 and 2nd production has finished date as 8/4.

Then SAP is releasing 8/4 production order whereas 6/2 production order is release rejected.

Please let me know your thoughts.

Thank you again.

Hello Naga,

At least one of the components is not available on the requested date.

The production order cannot be completed  for the desired date because the material availability is not sufficient for its components.

Read SAP help on Dynamic assembly order if you create a sales order for a material with the 'assembly processing' technique, the system carries out an availability check for the components needed for the assembly. Depending on the results of the availability check, either one or several procurement elements are created. The quantity for a one-time delivery and/or the next possible deadline for a full delivery and/or a delivery proposal with then ext possible deadline are displayed on the availability control screen.

During dynamic assembly processing, you can not change the quantities and deadlines. You can, however, select the 'fix date and quantity' field, if necessary.

It is possible to carry out another availability check taking into account incoming stock and additional, manually entered procurement elements.

Hello Brahmankar,

Sorry for not responding due to some technical issues with my sdn account. we have decided  not to release production orders while creating sales orders. So production supervisor will release manually  instead of auto release.

We are seeing another behaviour where sales order line item and production order link is broken once we create the delivery document. Instead of production order, delivery document will be displayed on the availability check screen. When I PGI the delivery document, then delivery document is gone from availablity screen.

So, finally we dont see any related documents for the sales order line item.

Currently we use static processing and SAP does maintain the link between Sales order line item and production order.

I wonder why SAP breaks the link. Please let me know if you have any idea about this behaviour.

Thank you for your time for looking into this issue.
