BW knowledge required for BDC?

Hello experts,
I heard that BW is part of BDC but I have no knowledge of BW so will this mean I will struggle to learn BDC?

 Hi LGarcia,

BW is an optional component in the SAP Business Data Cloud landscape. Customers who already run SAP BW can add it to their BDC formation so that they can use their BW data to for machine learning and AI projects. So I'd say you need detailed BW knowledge only if you want to work on a project where BW will be a key part of the overall solution. For projects where BW is not included or if you are not responsible for its integration to BDC, you do not need BW knowledge.
