The boom that we are witnessing now is louder than anything our ancestors could have ever imagined and faster than any academician could ever track.Technology no longer evolves year by year,it now evolves month by month, week by week and now hour by hour. What once took decades now takes days. This is tremendous growth. Revolutionary. Historic.
But growth at this speed comes with a psychological cost.
With every new model, every new breakthrough, a silent companion , imposter syndrome appears.A creeping anxiety that whispers: “You are far behind.”
As a master’s student, I constantly feel the pressure to keep up with emerging technologies. The journey no longer moves from one programming language to another. It leaps from machine learning to deep learning, from ChatGPT to Gemini, Claude, AI agents, Agentic AI and beyond.
By the time I begin understanding one trend, another replaces it.This endless tracking doesn’t always create productivity but hinders it and comes along procrastination. A procrastination phase so deep it feels like sinking into the Mariana Trench, surrounded by information, yet unable to move.
In 2026, I thought I had found clarity: “I need a Vision Board.” Then another dilemma arises.Should I use Pinterest? A vision board app? A productivity tool? A Notion template?Humorous, that even organizing clarity now requires choosing between technologies.And that’s when I realized something important:-
The problem isn’t the growth of technology, the problem is trying to grow in every direction at once.
“If you are planning to dwell in tech, delve deeper first, then broader.”
Depth builds confidence,breadth without depth builds anxiety.Emerging technology is expanding at a humongous pace , at the same time our thoughts don’t need to be caged by it.We don’t need to learn everything, sometimes, the most revolutionary act in a fast-moving world
is choosing where to stand still.
