I'am a functional consultant, I need to give certain inputs and also need to know certain technical things. Our abapers are not super experienced and hence the need.
1) How is the call Transaction command is used. For instance if i need to call VA01, I need to use the call transaction VA01 statement but then after that What ? Do i need to record a BDC first for VA01 and then put that BDC with the call transaction statement to fill in the fields of sales order creation ?
2) This question is independent of 1st question above. We want to develop a Z program and this Z program will check certain things from a z table and if the condition is satisfied, this Z program will call already created sales orders in VA02 mode and do field changes in requested delivery date and do re pricing in sales document.
How can we achieve the same. some technical inputs pls. i.e. what to use. BAPI, Call transaction etc. Request pls answer pointwise

I would suggest looking at the BOR (Business Object Repository) using transaction code BAPI. You'll find BAPIs specifically for sales orders. Essentially, one populates structures and tables defined in the BAPI function module interface, call the function module, named like 'BAPI....', etc., and checks the return table for success or failure. These are, IMHO, much simpler than the old call transaction using bdc table approach.
For BDC, one usually records the actual walk through of the transaction, then creates a program that populates a bdc table using the screens, programs, fields, okcodes from the recordings, and associated data values, then either parks the BDC session for later processing or does a call transaction in synchronous update mode, checks the return code, reads the message table available for document number updated/created, etc. It's really much easier to use the BAPI function calls.

hi,
For both va01 and va02 you need to do a recording in SHDB transaction as a first step.
Then you need to call transaction with the recording i mean that BDCTAB.

-> U can ask ABAP Consultants to check in Tcode "BAPI" instead of using BDC. U will get what u require.
2) This question is independent of 1st question above. We want to develop a Z program and this Z program will check certain things from a z table and if the condition is satisfied, this Z program will call already created sales orders in VA02 mode and do field changes in requested delivery date and do re pricing in sales document.
-> This can be achieved. U will have to give the report logic for the reports. Other than that to get VA02 screen, you can use the Double Click events for ALV grids or you can use HOTSPOTS and call whichever transaction you want to skipping the initial screen.
Your ABAP consultants may not be experienced but i think they will find solutions for these in SDN. They can search with simple search queries. I think the above points are enough for searching through SDN.

Your questions are very basic...surely you have a technical/development lead that can advise you? Even a junior ABAPer should know the answers (or any type of 'consultant' whether functional or technical).
