XML IDOC Encoding

Hey All,

I am trying to change the encoding of an Outbound XML IDOC so that it can be read and decoded properly in an external non Sap System. I have checked the user exits in the idoc, but it does not help (we can do any changes to the segments but the encoding information is not passed in the segments). There is a piece of code in sap which does the xml creation but i would prefer to find a solution where i dont have to do any modifications to SAP Code. All helpful suggestions are highly appreciated and points will be rewarded. Thanks.
