plz tell me how to save the task in the pftc_ins transaction.after giving the task name and text and saving it it is asking the PREFIX number how to give this prefix no. and save the task

Hi

Workflow automates the steps and activities in a business process according to predefined procedures and rules.

Workflow presents information and documents to the appropriate knowledge worker or agent (another entity such as a program) to make a decision or perform an activity.

Workflow tracks each and every step in the process flow and maintains an ongoing status.

Workflow also collects and reports all of the metrics associated with the execution and completion of the process.

There will be usually a prefix configured for workflow as well as tasks. Most of teh standard cases the prefix for Workflow template is WS (eg. WS000001) and for Tasks it is TS (eg., TS000003).

In your system you can try with these or give a Z prefix to save them.

Hi Pavan,

For standard tasks, workflow tasks, workflow templates, task groups and roles, the eight-digit id consists of a three-digit prefix number followed by a five-digit number which is determined by internal number assignment. The complete number must be unique across systems and clients. From a technical point of view, the uniqueness of the number is catered for by the prefix number. #

This is maintained in img settings :-

check if you have maintained prefix for your system and client in following IMG config table:-

Transaction code - OOW4

or Txn SPRO - Basis components - SAP business workflow - Basic Settings -

Maintaine prefix number.
