Why multiple ENHANCEMENT-POINTs ?

Hi

there is a program RIAUFMVK that we wanted to change and on looking at the program the first lines are 4 enhancement points. I thought that was odd - and I have seen this before in many others - but never thought to ask until today. So my question is why there 2 Static and 2 dynamic.... just taking the 2 Static one if you wanted to slot some extra custom stuff inside one of them which one to pick - and why are there multiples ?

Maybe it's because of different SAP teams who had to enhance this program, with implementations maybe inter-dependent, switched on or off (or stand-by), so the order of implementations have to run in order which requires the use of several enhancement points.
