in LSMW you have 4 methods.

based on your input strcture fields you can select any one method...

if you use batch input method , in this some your input fields not there in batch input , then you go for BAPI method like you can select any one of method....

Hi John,

According To ur requirement u will create the LSMW.

First For example if you want to create the VEndor master data.

First we will go inside the LSmw and serach for the Standard program.If it is avaliable then we will look into the flat file.

We will check the fields of flat file whcich also there in the SAP standarad strcuture.

If all flat file fields are avaliable in our SAP standard program strcuture alos then we will prefer SAP standard program.

Else we will go for BDC recodring

IF standard program is not avaliable for u r program then u will go for BDC recording

In rare cases we will go for BAPi and IDOC.

For example if you want to transfer data from one system to another then we will go for IDOC.

In the case of BAPI.

for example i have created vendor master data then i want to populate the IBAN data for this then we wull go fro BAPI.
