what will happen after SOAP interface - security profile Basic is changed with Strong?

I read the concept about the interface patten = Stateless (XI30-compatible) with point to point selected in SOAP interface definition. Now I selected Security Profile = basic, which only supports user name/pwd authentication. What will happen if I select set it to Strong? Are the related strong authentication methods(liKE x509) supported immediately or any futher beckend implementation should be enhanced?
