VPN - virtual private network

VPN is one type of software to give the company the same capabilities at much lower cost by using the shared public infrastructure rather than a private one.

Simple example - you are working for one client ,you want to work from home, simply you login using Client VPN Connection.

Citrix is the company which supply and supports VPN connections to the customer.

Thanks

VPN (Virtual Private Network) use for security.

VPN is mainly used to access server that is not in your network connectivity... thru secure network..Citrix has there software to connect to VPN, you may need a token card for connecting to remote server...

Hi,

VPN : its virtual private network.it is a software using which you can get ur machine connected to any other network which is physically far away,by using a VPN you get disconnected to ur local LAN and go to the remote LAN.

CITRIX : its a metaframe gateway, this is also used to access remote network but if you use citrix gateway only the window of the citrix gateway is in the other LAN but your entire system is in your LAN so you van make use of both the networks.

thanks

reward if helpful

Hi Akash,

A virtual private network (VPN) is a network that uses a public telecommunication infrastructure, such as the Internet, to provide remote offices or individual users with secure access to their organization's network. A virtual private network can be contrasted with an expensive system of owned or leased lines that can only be used by one organization. The goal of a VPN is to provide the organization with the same capabilities, but at a much lower cost.

Citrix Presentation Server (formerly Citrix MetaFrame Server) is a remote access/application publishing product that allows people to connect to applications available from central servers. One advantage of publishing applications using Presentation Server is that it lets people connect to these applications remotely, from their homes, airport Internet kiosks, smart phones, and other devices outside of their corporate networks.

hope this helps you.
