yes you should be able to run in the background as these transactions use BAPI's..

Hi,

If you want this run in a BDC using back ground mode its possible to run the VL01n transaction but its not preferable ...For that you have to use the BAPI's...

it is better if you find a corresonding BAPI and perform the same action using BAPI.
