i have to extract material master data ,itseems some ztables are also used so how do we know which tables are to be used .I appreciate your response.

You could go to the data ditionary and enter MATNR as the data type and then do a where use list. Page to the bottom and you'll see if this is used in any Y or Z tables - not just master data though.
Of course if a Z data element is used in a Z table, this won't find them. So you could do an F4 on ZMAT in the data type field of the dictionary. Then use the above procedure an any that look promissing.
However - this is <b>not</b> guaranteed to find all of the Z tables, but it should give you a start.
