Friends,
Is there a way to restrict VF03 to output only to the screen. We dont want to give auth to output to printers.
Thanks.

Have you considered that this is not the only affected transaction, and restricting access to the printers is another option?
If I remember correctly, there is also an option to only print the document once, after which it is "protected". Might be worth looking into¨for these users.

Thanks Julius.
Yes we understand restricting printers would be one of the option, but this is requested by production support guys.
We restricted production support roles with 03. Adding 04 to that role spoils the integrity of keeping that roles display only.
Moreover we dont see any reason why production support should print these documents, though they claim they need to print preview and print documents (ex: billing document in VF03) to do some verification.
In this specific transaction VF03 it seems you have option to Output document to printer and screen. Default the options are grayed out.
Looking for option to enable output to screen and authorize them to do that so we dont let them print anything.
Thanks again.

If they need to do this in production for troubleshooting, you can also consider adding a "watermark" to the copy?
Big fat red COPY on it...
There are a few threads about this in the ABAP Printing forum.
Try a search... if you wish, then I will move this thread over to that forum. Some ABAPers know how to use authorizations in combination with config.

Julius,
I will check that forum for options. Till that time let this be in this forum. Lets see if some of our security members come up with interesting insight.
Thanks.

Moved, but in hindsight ABAP General is better.
