hi,

runtime analysis will tell you what is the execution time of your program in microseconds

performance tuning is used to enhance the performance of your program by analysing it.

UTP is unit test plan which you have to create in ms word to show how your program is runing step by step.

<b>Runtime Analysis</b>

The runtime analysis is an ABAP workbench tool which is quite useful for analyzing the performance of an ABAP program or transaction. With this tool, the system can display information about the following:

• Execution time

• Executed instructions and the hierarchy ordered by execution time or by instruction category

• Accessed tables and types of access

• Chronological execution flow

This tool can be useful for identifying:

*Which parts of programs have intensive CPU load

*Whether parts of programs are or not correctly structured

• The quantity and type of database access

<b>How To Run</b>

**From the ABAP workbench initial screen, select Test Runtime analysis.

**From the ABAP source code editor, select Utilities More utilities Runtime analysis.

**From the ABAP editor initial screen, select Program Execute Runtime analysis.

**From any R/3 screen, select System Utilities Runtime analysis Execute.

**Enter transaction code SE30 in the command field.

**From the repository browser, select a program or transaction and then select Development object Test/Execute. When a dialog box appears, select Runtime analysis and click Continue.

<b>UTP</b>

These are the test cases which developer needs to develop.For example while traversing thruogh screen...developer will specify all the inputs that have to be enterd there and in the results he will also specify what output exactly you will be getting etcc....

<b>Performance Tuning</b>

After making the runtime analysis,performance tuning can be done after analysing the results.

For example there might be redundant open sql stataemnts in the program which u need to avoid...or selesct in a select etcc.......

UTP(User Acceptence Testing):

Usually this is done by developer, u have to test your development object with some test cases.

Run time Analysis:

You can analyse your program through SAP provided tool(SE30), here u can find how much percentage taking for variuos case and also u can reduce by tunning your Prog.

Performance Tunning:

After making runtime analysis or SQL Trace, the perfromance of the Prog will be reduce by using the guidlines given in the above tools.
