Usage of ABAP Debugger scripting

Hello,

I have questions about positioning and usage of ABAP Scripting.

After reading about it I have doubts about its real value. It's supposed to save developer time, but in my opinion writing second program to debug the first one is more effort then just going through number of F5's. Could anyone correct me and give scenarios when it's advantageous to use Script?

Another question is about usage. It's not clear for me why we have to go again to debugging to stop the script. In my opinion the script should be stopped right after we exit debugger. Or I confuse something?

Hello Konstantin,

Check this blog - for one of the advantage of using Debugger script. I have used scripting for various scenario, manually change the content of a massive internal table can be very tiring job to do, but with scripting you can do it easily. Also, if you can implement a solution at runtime without touching the actual codings and this is really amazing.
