HI ALL,

i HAD AN ERROR WHILE SELECTING VARIANTS IN MY REPORT... GOT A MESSAGE SAYING .." VARIANTS MISSING IN THE CURRENT VERSION " .. tHE REPORT HAD 4 VARIANTS BUT NOW ALL OF THEM ARE GIVING THE SAME MESSAGE WHEN SELECTED......

Looks like some one modified selection-screen in development and transported into production.

now you need to enter manually and there is no other option.

Hi Soniya,

Can you tell me the report name, which has this problem. If it is a standard report it may be recovered, but for Z programs you have to create them again.

this is a zprogram. evn am not sure how it went off like that. even i dont remember the variant data properly is there any means i can get the old variant.

Hi Soniya,

No it is not possible for the Z reports.

You must have made some changes to the selection screen and the TR must have released for the same.

this is not possible to get old variants..

see the version management for current program and do compare with prd.

it should be modified some selection-screen or someone deleted the variant

i found out that different version of the selection screen got activated. if i retrieve the previous one i want to no i will lose my entire changes done.

Hi Soniya,

It is of no use to retrieve the earlier version. I don't think the variants you can get again.

Just recreate them.

i got it. thanx for ur replies. u can retrieve the obselete variants by goin to se38. choose varints options.click on adjust(drop down option) in the menu bar and execute with the program name.

Hi All,

There is a solution, very simple. Think of it. I had the same problem but I solved it without any manual creation of variants or without reverting back to previous version.

The solution is renaming the parameters because:

You don't loose variant if you create new parameters/select-options.

You don't loose variant if you delete new parameters/select-options.

Just rename.

Note: You must not activate the renamed parameters without changing it to correct data type else you will face the same problem with renamed parameters.
