Hi,

That is the major advantage in BAPI.directly u can update R/3 using the standard BAPI function module...only the diff is after using this Fm u need to call one another FM for COMMIT WORK which we cant do in BDC.

1-yes you can use the BAPI function module to upload the data from legacy system to sap,

2-create a internal table and try to save the log message that you r getting at SM35
