Upgrade with unicode and without unicode conversions

Hi,

For an upgrade project from 4.7 to ECC6 I need answer for the following questions.

1. Advantage and disadvantage ECC 6 upgrade with Unicode conversion and without Unicode conversion

2. What are the countries and languages doesnu2019t needs Unicode conversion

3. Upgrading without Unicode conversion will affect the functionality of the business process?

Hi Vijay,

Unicode provides a unique number for every character, no matter what the platform, program, language.

If you are upgrading older version to new version, Unicode plays an important role. UCCHECK is the T-code which you can findout the errors.

While upgrading Unicode checkbox should be active.

Without unicode in upgrade, you can find so many problems like uploads & downloads. From ECC, unicode should be compatable and hence without unicode in upgrade, performance become poor & poor programming practice.
