Unable to Delete a field from BAPI structure

I am getting an error message "BAPI-structure: invalid change: field ZACCOUNT_TYPE should be deleted"

when I try to remove field ZACCOUNT_TYPE from a structure that is used by a custom BAPI.

I tried everything..cancelled the BAPI release, etc. But still the same problem. Can someone please help?

What is the message class and number? What are the precise steps you are going through in attempting to delete this field?
