two diff transactions with different views but pointing to same table

hi,

i have two transactions which are pointing to the same table having different view name.

one is just read only

and the other is read, change and delete.

but the prblm is m not able to create this transaction with parameters.

can anyone help me out?

Hi Poonam,

As you said U already created tcode for views right, You mean to say u want to create variant for the view. then check this link,

or Create Variant for Maintenance view via SE54.

what is create variant? i dont know.

i have to do point 2 transactions to the same table - one with read only

and the other with read,change....

for this i need to create maintanance right????

Hi poonam,

Do the following,

Create 2 maintenance view one with read and another one with read and change.

Crrate Maintenance with read,

1. Go to Se11

2. Enter the View Name and click on Create Button

3. Select the Maintennac eview radio button and click ok

4. Enter the description and table name

5. Go to Tab Maint. Status and select the radio button Read Only

6. Generate a Maintenance view and Activate it

7. Go to SE93 and create the transaction code for view

8. Enter the tcode Name-> Create->Choose the option with parameters

9. Enter the description

10. Enter the transactiona sSM30

11. Select Inherit Gui Attributes in the classification

12. Scroll Down and Enter the VIEWNAME EQ ur View Name

13. SHOW EQ X

14. Activate it.

For View with read and change do the same steps but in step 3 instead of selecting read only select the radiobutton Change/ Display.

yes.

i did this.

created zooo1 as view for table zooo

and zooo2 as view for table zooo

and then created transaction,

but when i execute it is giving me error as :

The maintenance dialog for ZOOO1 is incomplete or not defined

what do i do now?

Hi Poonam,

Have you Generated the view from SE11-> View-> Utilities-> table Maintennace Generate.

I think there is somthing wrong in the Maitennace Generator. Check the followings, These things are mandatory.

1. Authorization group,

2. Function group

3. screen Number

Or go to SE93, enter your tcode what u have generated and see the transaction code what u mentioned in the Default Values For, do not forget to select the checkbos skip initial screen.

if i do this : SE11-> View-> Utilities-> table Maintennace Generate.

i dont have the tab of maint status na????

what i did was :

se11 -> view-> create-> radio button options....

i didnt go for that utilities.

it will be there , first select the mint. status as read only then create generate.

Select the Maintennace Type as One Step and Overview screen as 0100.

Hi Poonam,

Select the fields for your view in SE11. Go to Change Mode via SE11-> go to View Fields and choose table fields by clicking on Table Fields button. If you have more fields then better go for Maintenance type Two Step and enter sreen numbers for both Overview screen and single screen in Utilities-> table Maintennace Generator.

For Overview Screen type 0100 and for single screen 0200. Now in SM30 it will show you key values and double click on it it will show you the details with other parameters in second screen.

Hi Poonam,

Two maintenance screens are processed during the extended table maintenance:

On the Overview screen the entries are displayed in list form.

On the Single screen one entry is displayed. The single screen can be called from the overview screen, by function key, for every entry.

That means when u use single screen double click wont work. We use two steps when there is large amount of fields.
