Transporting customizing table not possible

Former Member

Hi there,

if this is the wrong place to post this question: I am sorry!

I know there are a lot of this kind of questions but I did not find any regarding to my specific problem.

I want to transport a customizing table via SM30.

I enter the table's name, press enter and then I press the "Transport" button.

But I get an information (translated by me): "For this data is nor transportation possible."

Further information says: Message-Number: SV142.

"You wanted to include data from a table / view into a transporting task manually. This function is not allowed for this data.

The data got a local character so they must not be transported or they are included into a transporting task by function. "

First the table was designed as "A" application table with static and dynamic data. But afterwards it has been changed to "C" customizing table.

I am not allowed to transport the data via manually adding the entries to the transporting task (R3TR/TABU/TABNAME).

So do you have an idea how I can transport the table via SM30?

Thank you for your help.

Regards

Matthias

First of all, is it a Z table?

Not sure why you are not allowed to provide a manual entry in TR.

As asked earlier is it custom table data ?

Thanks,

Mahesh

Hi,

The table maintenance has to be done in the source like a development system and then transported. I think the request creation is not permissible. Also it has to be 'Display/Maintenance Allowed' under Customizing Category.

Cheers,

Arindam

To be more precise the "transport" behavior of the client dependent customizing objects depends on the client's set up (trxn SCC4).

For e.g., you can have a development system with a "golden client" where all the customizing is done.

Hi Mathias,

Check the customizing category as Arindam suggests and the "recording routine" in the table maintenance generator. Make sure it's on "standard recording routine". You may need to regenerate the table maintenance view.

Hi-

In your Table Maintenance generator make sure you have selected Recording Routine as 'Standard Record Routine'.

Hello Matthias,

Ask your techincal consultant to delete and recreate the table maintanince generator again and the adjust the table in se14.

Thanks,
Vijay.

Hello Matthias,

  • Go to SE03 -> include objects into a transport request
  • choose "selected objects"
  • Enter R3TR  TABL  <Your table>

  • and "Save objects in request"

When you look at your request then in SE10, you will find several entries for your table including the table contents.

Kind regards

Andreas

Hey guys,

thank you for your numerous answers.

I will try to answer/comment all your questions/hints.

Yes, it is a "Z"-table.

Yes, display/maintenance is allowed too.

In the maintenance generator the radio button "no, or user..." is selected, not the standard recording routine.

Before I try Vijay's and Andreas' suggestions, I will agree with my colleague if I it is possible to change the recording type (I don't know if it is "intended(?)" to have this recording type).

I think tomorrow I will reply the correct answer/hint.

And now it seems the other posts could have helped me as well

Thanks again.

Hello Matthias,

I really liked the details you put into the question, hence i rated it a 4-star. i just wish that we have more questions which have as much details But unfortunately this doesn't rule out the fact this question is a FAQ, so i have unmarked it as a question.

I know there are a lot of this kind of questions but I did not find any regarding to my specific problem.

I remember replying to similar queries in the past, so i don't understand why you did not get any valid solution to your problem?

After you converted it to Customizing, did you:

Utilities -> Database Object - Database Utility -> Activate and adjust?

Hi,

thank you for your rating and compliment Suhas

Well I searched for my problem and found some posts giving same advices.

But the topic-starters did not have mentioned the same provlem.

So I thought it would be better to open a new topic to have a concrete and specific answer to my problem.

Neal I did not do the last steps. What happens when I do / don't do them?

I was able to transport the table to the consolidation system, but the "settings" did not change. In the target system the table is still an "A"-table.

Do you know if I will be still able to transport the entries to the production system?

Regards

Matthias
