Objects are transported from development to testing and then testing to production.

From development to testing:

Whatever object user activated, will be assigned to a package or a $TMP. The one assigned to a package as per your project will be available in SE10 or SE09. You can release the request from any of the transaction codes mentioned above, but make it sure to release the sub request and then the main request first.

After u release it, system automatically imports it after a fixed interval of time (fixed as per your project) else if u have manual import use STMS_IMPORT for this in the testing system and import it manually.

All the dependent objects should move first and then the later should be moved else the request would fail.

From testing to production:

Basically three transactions are used for this purpose

1) STMS_QA

2) STMS

3) STMS_IMPORT

1) STMS_QA: For granting the approval to the request to move it to production now the request goes to buffer (in testing system).

2) STMS: For sending the request from buffer to production system (testing system).

3) STMS_IMPORT: For importing the request send from buffer to production (in production system).

Transportation Planning

Purpose

Transportation Planning is part of the Transportation Planning and Vehicle Scheduling (TP/VS) component. It enables the transportation planner to optimally use the available capacity of trucks, trains, ships, and airplanes with the goals of planning more efficient loading capacity and lowering costs, since most customers depend completely on external transportation companies nowadays for optimum transportation (which means deliveries that are on time and cost saving).

Integration

The APO System includes the tactical and operative planning areas of SAP Transportation Management, which is enhanced by the SAP Logistics Execution Systems (LES) area for transportation.

The TP/VS component contains the following functions:

Transportation planning and transportation consolidation

Vehicle scheduling and route determination in a dynamic environment

Transportation mode and selection of carrier

Multi-pick and multi-drop functions

Hi Sandeep Sen,

Transportation is done through transaction code's SE09,SE10.

IN SE09,

1) give the user name which you are using.

2)select your desired REQUEST TYPE & REQUEST STATUS & then click DISPLAY BUTTON.

3) select your request number, expand its node, now release ur task first by clickin on the RELEASE DIRECTLY (F9)TAB.

4) now release your parent task. same tab(release directly f9).

Steps for transport request:

1. go to tcode se80 and create a package

2. when it prompts to save create a new request and save this number

3. enter description and click on save and then ok

4. now go to se38 and create ur program and assign the package created above

and put the same request number

5. if the program already exists and is assigned to a local object/different package, then follow the path “goto-> object directory entry” and put the above created package and request number

6. go to tcode se09 and make sure that “modifiable and released” are checked and click on display

7. Do the syntax check and consistency checks on the requests and release

8. go to tcode cg3y and download the data and CO files to ur local pc from the following paths.

u00D8 Data: E:\usr\sap\trans\data\R903789.IEC

u00D8 CO: E:\usr\sap\trans\cofiles\K903789.IEC

9. Go to the Sever in which the request is to be imported

10. go to transaction CG3Z and upload the data and co files to the respective folders on that server

11. go to transaction STMS

12. Goto Overview -> Imports

13. Double click on the system (eg: CE6)

14. Goto Extras -> Other Requests -> Add

15. Choose the request number (which will be the same as the one you created in the old server) and click on Ok

16. if a message is displayed as follows, click on Yes

‘Transport request IECK903

attach to import queue CE6’

17. Your request number will get added to the list

18. Select it and goto Request -> Import

19. Choose your client (same as client on the current server) (you can fiddle with other options in the Options tab

20. Click on Ok and if a message is shown as follows, click on Yes

The import is being executed with the following options

Asynchronous:

- Leave transport request in queue

Import transport request IECK903789 into system CE6

client 100?

21. A ‘Truck’ symbol will be shown in the Status column

22. Click on Refresh till the truck changes to a yellow triangle

23. Right click on the request and click on logs to view any errors or messages

24. If no errors then transport is successful

Hi sandeep,

Below are the steps:

1.Go to se10

2.There check what are all the related objects that you are going to transport is there in your request or not .

3.Then check all the subrequests under the main request

4.Then release the subrequests one by one

5.Then check the main request

6.Release the main request (by clicking the lorry icon)

7. You will get the screen where the success message will be displayed

8.Hence ur request is released and you can send this to ur basis consultant for TRANSPORT .
