I have doubt in transfer structure . It is used to transfer data from Source to bw But is there transfer structure is source system and also one in BW system. When we activate transfer rule what happens in source system

this the flow of data from Source sys to BW.
Extractor Fills -> Extract Structure .
Extract Structure -> Maintains Data staged there .
Both Extract and Transfer Structure constitues Data Source .
Replication -> Brings Data source in BW under Appl.Comp.
Transfer Rule -> Fills Transfer Structure here.
Transfer Structure -> Gives data to Comm structure .
Communication Structure -> Fills Cube

To see wat happens in the background wehn u activate transfer rules, try this St05 ->Activate trace -> Activate transfer rules ->st05 -> Deactivate trace.

Data is written to the PSA table from the transfer structure, and stored there. A transparent PSA table is created for every transfer structure that is activated. Depending on the type of update, data is transferred from the PSA table into the communication structure using the transfer rules. From the communication structure, the data is finally updated into the corresponding data target.

One Transfer Structure (R/3) internally map to the second one in (BW).
With replication the DataSources will be available under the sourcesystem in BW and can be mapped or assigned to InfoSource.
