hi experts,
i m new to sap -abap.i want to know on what basis they name the transaction codes? like se38,se71 etc.
what does SE or SM means in se38 or sm36.

SE means System Environment
SM means System Management

SE transactions are mostly ABAP related and SM transactions are mostly basis related.

Hi Bas,
As such there is no logic behind using SE or SM. But looking at the transactions one can say that all the SM transactions are for Monitoring purpose while all SE transactions are Executable transaction.
I wonder if there would be any other logic.

i read that SE stands for Systems Engineering
and i donot know abt SM
