Hi,
I would like to capture the function module test data in a flat file so that I could reproduce the data automatically reading the flat file in case of system crash.
Please don't ask me, how it will happen, the client is not a implmentation client and they are using SAP to test their adapters. The environment is not so stable, they had bad experience of systems crashes and lost data.
My question,
1. Are there any SAP standard functionality to capture function module test data?
2. Are there any SAP standard functionality to repopulate the test data say from a flat file?
3. Is any way that SAP CATT functionlity could help to do the above?
FYI, I am aware of writing custom program (not done so far), but would like to explore standard functionlaity first.
Regards,
Sundar.

Hello Sundar
I highly recommend to use <b>eCATT </b>(if already available; required basis release >= 6.20) for testing your function modules.
eCATT can be executed from a stable SAP system which connects to the testing system via RFC. Using eCATT you can define the input and output of your function module test case. Thereby you can easily automate your testing.
Is there any difference between CATT and eCATT? Yes, there is a big difference in the usability and the functionality. The old CATT is much less comfortable.
