Hi,
I am very fresh in programming (no project experience) as a whole and specifically ABAP, which i am supposed to learn asap. What tips could you like experienced programmers give me to take me to the next level? I have to visit the BC400 course next week and hoping I get a good foundation on ABAP. What do you suggest?
Cheers....!
ps: I have spent the last 2 months familiarizing with the SAP user interface & transactions like se38.

The BC400 is a good course.
Depending on what you want to do next - SAP is a big area. I found the BC430 a useful course - but my background is as a DBA so it was very helpfull to see how tables work in SAP. I have been advised that BC401 is also a good course to do after BC400. Your SAP tutor will be able to give you guidance on this next week
Someone has already said this, but make sure you use the training you are given. Practise practise practise - especially just after you have been on the courses
Best wishes,
Gavin

hi,
As a fresher : if you are good at programming than go for ABAP,else choose any functional module.
2.When choosing ABAP course see to that they cover BAPI,BADI,USEREXISTS,WORKFLOW.(apart from sapscripts, smartforms, reports BDC,lsmw,ALV,ale, idoc, edi).
3. If you have noticed that ABAP is moving towards object oriented, netweavers,,,classes. (focus on these areas also).
4. Today ABAP is still doing good is because of BAPI,workflow.
5.Ultimately programming side means more practice....it will helpful to you.
Once you get job, no one will help you in coding,so you have to practice atleast 8 hrs a day.
6.ABAP with CRM is also doing good.
7.if you are in USA, (BAPI,workflow,CRM,netweavers, report objects) .
8.if your aare in INDIA,then (you can surive with BDC,ALV,LSMW,reports ,ale, idoc).
hope this will help you.

Tabah,
Just keep going through SDN.
Simultaneously check what they are mentioning in each and every question and answer by logging into IDES.Both should be done concurrently so that those things will etched into your memory.
Wish you all the best,

Hi,
The most important is to learn ABAP objects and SAP systems for it you should have masters in SE11 and also keep reading framework PDF's. Let me know if you want them i will send you across.
Thanks
Anuj
