Text editor shuts down sap logon

Hello everyone,

Every time I've tried to add or edit documentation for a data element or to edit a text element in smart forms, the sap logon shuts down.

I searched about this issue online and most of the time the answer was linked with disabling ms word as text editor. I did that and the problem was not solved.

Has anyone had this issue before and solved it?

Thank you for your answers and the suggested solutions. The solution to my problem was quite easy in fact and really absurd. This issue occurs with Office in the Microsoft Store (or pre-installed) apps and does not occur with Click-To-Run or volume license Products. I just uninstalled the Office package and installed a Click-To-Run version.

Hi,

This is probably because the legacy editor is not installed. Have a look at following wiki to get to the component you need to download and install (SAPscript Legacy Text Editor):

Please post details about the exact steps to reproduce. Screenshots can help too.

Hi

1. Go to SE71. In settings Form Painter, uncheck the checkbox for Graphical PC editor.

If it does not work

Look for the note . https://launchpad.support.sap.com/#/notes/2267927

Venkat
