Text editor in custom container

Dear Team

IN PBO ,I have created custom container and used CALL METHOD gref_grid->set_table_for_first_display  , the table which i am passing in CALL METHOD gref_grid->set_table_for_first_display has 10 columns in which one with length of 255 , but in the output i can only enter 128 character even i have  changed field catalog length to 255 its only taking 128 .   but i user want to enter more than 200 char , how to achieve this

in screen shot 4th column has 255 length  there i have to enter text more than 200-255 char.

You cannot in ALV grid - FAQ - use search tool

I would suggest you

• display a short text (eg. 50-80 chararcter)
• hide you long text field
• add an icon ICON_CHANGE_TEXT as hotspot,

when clicked display a popup window with long text editor, then copy left part of longtext converted to text in the displayed field, update the hidden field.

i have used CALL FUNCTION 'CATSXT_SIMPLE_TEXT_EDITOR' i m getting editor but i cannot pass value to screen after this .

CALL FUNCTION 'CATSXT_SIMPLE_TEXT_EDITOR'

          EXPORTING

            IM_TITLE              = LV_title

*         IM_DISPLAY_MODE       = ' '

           IM_START_COLUMN       = 10

           IM_START_ROW          = 10

          CHANGING

            CH_TEXT               = ITAB.

DATA : OUT_sTRING TYPE STRING.

CLEAR  : OUT_STRING.

LOOP AT ITAB INTO fs_comment.

   CONCATENATE OUT_STRING FS_COMMENT  INTO OUT_sTRING.

   ENDLOOP.

READ TABLE <fs_final2> ASSIGNING <fs_final1> INDEX e_row_id.

ASSIGN COMPONENT 'TLNUM' OF STRUCTURE <fs_final1> TO <fs_finalg5>.

<fs_finalg5> = OUT_STRING.

After updating the ALV diplayed table, execute method REFRESH_TABLE_DISPLAY with IS_STABLE set to 'XX'.

Hint: Don't forget you need two fields as the displayed one may be truncated during dynpro execution...
