Hi,

I need to add one new field to Ztable and want to move the same to QAT. but I am worrying that If I move this transport to QAT, will it change the table data also in accorance with DEV box data??

How can i ensure that it shud only move table structure not data??

I will maintain the data seperately in QAT.

Thanks in advance

Raj

Hi,

you just transport request to Quality data will not affected but dont forget to run adjust database utility se14 and if u r using table maintainance generator then u have to modify that also by using se54.

Rewards if helpful.

Hi Raj,

When you make changes you are not making changes to the data so no need to worry of that. But you may need to adjust your database data once you change the fields using SE14.

Hi,

when u change the table structure, then structure only will be reflected in QAT ,not ur data..so u can transport the change to QAT ,no need to worry..data won't be transported..

Rewrad if helpful.

hi,

Is it a master data table or customizing table.

If it is not customizing table then no need to worry about the data. It will not get transported.

Hi Praneet,

Goto Change mode and goto Table Maintenance Generator.

Now click the Delete button on toolbar ( Dustbin/Dumpster Icon)

Pop-up with everything selected comes. Just click the 'tick' mark.

It will delete the maintenance view.

Now just recreate by clicking create button from toolbar.

If the previous TR has not been released it will ask for transport and you can assign same transport else you can also give a new one.

Transport has no impact.

Nishant,

I have to set up new table maintenance, thanks for inputs. If I create the same and release same to QAT, <b>what is it's impact on old data in QAT??</b>

Kindly give me an answer to close it

Hi,

In any case data will not affect so just dont worry and transport table your data will be as it is only definition of table and function grp will be transported to production.

No Impact.

The old data will be safe and the field that you have added will appear blank for all the old data.

So, this is safe to transport.

Hi,

There will be no impact on the old data. It will change the structure of the Ztable only not the data.

Thanks,

Sri.

Hi praneet,

Go to table maintainance generator then go to change mode(F7) then click expert mode check all checkboxes and then press continue it will refresh all screens and function group you can put all this stuff in single request, creation of second request not necessary.
