What is the maximum number of fields that can be accomodated inside a SAP table? What is the number of characters? Why and how the technical limitations arises to a table size? Can anybody give a precise and a clear definition?

A table may not have more than 249 fields. The sum of all field lengths is limited to 1962.A maximum of 16 key fields per table is permitted. The maximum length of the table key
is 255.

Hi,
The size of data in a DDIC table will depend on the techinical settings declared while creating the table where we can give the number of records that we expect that table to hold under size catagory.

If you are using ALV report than maximum 90 columns you kan include in your report.
