table maintainance

Hi,

I have added one field in table & regenerated the table maintainance.

After regenerated the table maintainance in SM30 transaction the in the header my field name is displaying as +.

What I can do so that I can see the description for my field in header of SM30 under display mode?

Hello,

If the field you have created is derived from data element then the description would have automatically come. But I think the new field is elementary type.

You can edit the screen created for maintenance and change the description.

But be careful to remember the change, because these changes are lost if u happen to regenerate the screen again.

Hi,

If the description of the data element is empty then it shows '+'. to avoid this you create a data element with same features and give the short medium and long description, then it shows the heading in SM30.

i hav already face this problem so do one thing first create label.

short medium and long and then further create your table maintenance,

surely that will work.

Hello,

You need to include the short, medium and long description.

If it does not work, you can open the table maintenance table control in screen painter and extend the column width. But this gets over written if further changes are made.

Hi,

In data element level , u shud maintain field lable , short/med/long /heading. then activate the data elemat and as well as table.

Go to tcode Se14 and Activate and Adjust , if u still didnt find the lable u maintained.

Revert back if nay issues.
