Hi Beatrice.

First of all, don't use personal terms like:

I am an intern and my boss just asked me to give him the procedures of applying support packs before the end of the day

This is not a good projection and can put you in trouble.

Anyways, I would like to suggest you to refer these,

[SDN - Reference for Support packs information|;

[SDN - Reference for More information on support packs|;

[SDN - Standard SAP reference notes implemented by support packs programmaticaly |;

[SDN - Reference for applying support packs - Videos & more|https://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/weblogs?blog=/pub/wlg/3930] [original link is broken] [original link is broken] [original link is broken];

Hope that's usefull.

Good Luck & Regards.

Hi Beatrice,

Support Packs are patches applied to SAP System. You can assume them like the Service Packs applied to Windows Operating System. They are meant to enhance the functionality and to fix bugs(additional s/w corrections for errors) etc...The BASIS Consultants apply these Support Packs

Sai

hi...

support packages are available at sap service market place.

they are generally meant for fixing bugs and to enhance any funtionalityi.e. standard functionality available in sap.

If SAP has undergine any changes in that standarad funtionality from performance issue point of view or any other bugs fixing then the support packages have to be applied according to our versions.

Applying support packages is the job of SAP Basis consultant.

He has to keep a track of all the support packages are gien by SAP at SAP service market place.
