I am creating a custom executable program and would like to know the difference in the status's available
1. K Customer Production Program
2. P SAP std production program
3. S System Program
4. T Test Program
My program will be written in sandpit and used for testing purposes. Should I select the status as T. Later I want to code it using std dev specs in the production environment, what will be the status of the program there?
Thank!

Hi,
It will be nice to give status of executable program for reference purposes. Also it is good practice and habit eventhough it is not mandatory.
For your case, please give T (Test Program).

Hi,
The Status is not mandatory..You can create an executable program without giving any value..
Thanks,

The program status specifies whether the program is a test program, a
system program or a production program.
Depending on the status, some of the utilities cannot be used. For
example, you cannot use ABAP/4 debugging with system programs.
Use
Access protection
Program administration
But i guess no need to use that

So when I move this into production environment, so I change it to Customer Production Program or SAP std Production Program?

Hi,
You can set to customer production program since the program is custom program.

Hi Megan,
These Executable Program types are just for the User information with regards to Use of the Applicaton Program. There are several programs and applications develped which can be integrated accross the SAP R/3 System. To segregate each program w r t the Application Specific you can use these Application Types.
In your case you can create a program with type T and you can later move that in Production.
