Hi Folks,
Kindly let me know:-
Why can't we use a Cluster Table like BSEG in SQVI?
What are the other limitations related to SQVI?
Thanks,
K.Kiran.

The chosen table (BSEG) is a pool or cluster table. These tables may not be used in a table join.
You cannot read the selected table with SELECT statements (because, for example, it is a structure without a database table). Therefore, this table cannot be read within a table join either in SQVI.

Raman,
Is there any reason why we can't use join in SQVI if it is a cluster table.
And also kindly explain me what you mean by the below statement:-
"You cannot read the selected table with SELECT statements (because, for example, it is a structure without a database table). Therefore, this table cannot be read within a table join either in SQVI."
Thanks,
K.Kiran.

Hi,
Try to use BSIS - Accounting: Secondary Index for G/L Accounts instead of BSEG

Hi Kiran,
Try to find the differene between cluster and transparant tables.
Cluster tables hav many to one relationship between database and data dicitionary.
Native SQL are used to retrieve the data from the cluster tables. So the open SQL will not work on cluster tables. But through SQVI, or ABAP query makes the open SQL's. Thats why we can't retrieve the data from clusters throgh SQVI.

Hi Sai srinivas ,
As per the SAP help link:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_nw04/helpdata/en/cf/21f083446011d189700000e8322d00/content.htm
"You need the structural information stored in the ABAP Dictionary to read the data from a pooled table or cluster table correctly. These tables can therefore only be processed using <b>Open SQL</b> with the cluster interface, and <b>not with Native SQL</b> directly in the database."
Can you please put more light on the contradiction.
In other words, can i use a an open SQL statement like:
select * into CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF TABLE it_bseg from bseg where bukrs in so_bukrs.
to get data in my internal table it_bseg from the cluster table bseg in a report. If yes, then again the basic question arises why we cannot use it in SQVI.
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Raman.
