Hello Experts,

My customer has a problem during the implementation of a note. whenever he tries to change a view of a webdynpro component he gets an error message

"Carry out modification comparison for WDYC POWL_UI_COMP MASTER_CONTENT first. No changes possible". He is getting this since 10 days now..

Anyone knows the reason for this and how this can be overcomed.

Thanks,

JVR

Hi Kishore,

Please refer to OSS note 158979 and related notes 145743. Both notes address your issue.

Hi,

It seems your object( WDYC POWL_UI_COMP MASTER_CONTENT ) is locked by some OSS note. You need to choose the option "Reset to original" on the OSS note which locks the above mentioned object. You can do that in the note corrections node in the SPAU screen (But before that you need to find the corresponding OSS note). Hope this helps.

Thanks and Regards,

Kiran

Hello Kiran,

Thanks for the reply.

is there any way/tr to confirm that the view is locked by a note ? The reason being, as this is a customer message, i am bit hesistent to take any changes without confirmation

Thanks again for the info.

Hi Kishore,

One way of knowing this is to view the tr description (you can view this from the latest entry in the version management ,i am assuming the object is a screen and your developers follow all standards) as it might have the OSS note number. The other way of knowing this is to expand the note corrections node and go through the OSS notes which are listed there, first go through the OSS notes with grey flag, its highly probable that you might find the OSS notes from the grey ones ,although its a bit time consuming process.Hoping that this solves your issue.

Hello Kiran,

i checked for the locked notes and unfortunately found none. when i checked the version mgmt of the object, it seems that they have implemented a SP sometime back(21-03-07).

In your previous message, u have mentioned about 'resett to original' option. if i understand it correctly, this

can be used if the customer wants to revert back to the previous version. Is there any option to 'set as original' so as to make the current changes in the system as original and enable him to carry out the changes ?

If yes, where can i find that option as i see no note number in version management and it seems that he has upgraded to next SP.

thanks a lot for ur inputs.
