Sort function in oo alv is not working

Hi experts,

We have a 10 columns in OO ALV used report. If we select on one field and click on ascending button, it is sorting automatically.

But when we select the next column or some other column in the report, the same functionality is not working. It is giving a pop up to select the fields for performing ascending operation.

Field catalogue and data element/ data domains are same.Please advice how to resolve this issue. I am seeing this type of issue for the first time.

Hi Gopal,

as the report is sorted for field selected firstly , so now if you select some other field system is giving popup to know the next sorting should be based on second field selected or combination of first and second. As report is sorted previously.

Hi Ganesh,

We are receiving that pop up even for the first time when we click on Sort button for that particular field.

To cross check this, we have tried this functionality with another report, there it is working fine.

Hence I have checked both field catalogues and layout fields are exactly same. Please advice.

Hi,

This is quite strange... I suppose you have selected the column by clicking his header, not a cell in the grid...

Do you have the same behaviour by clicking the Filters option?

Is it happening randomly on any kind of fields or is it only happening for specific fields?
