Function module SO_OBJECT_DOWNLOAD can download a file to the presentation server when run in the foreground. However it stops working if the program is executed in the background.
If I attempt to call this function module in an RFC call (a web program calling a customized function module that uses function module SO_OBJECT_DOWNLOAD), will it be possible to download the file to a folder.
We have a requirement to display attachments to a purchase requisition in a web page. I need to provide these files to the web programmer. The problem is that if I try to download the files to the application server, the documents especially the word and excel documents are downloaded is a damaged manner. If you try to open them they give you errors. They work correctly in the foreground (download to the presentation server) but that does not help my cause.
