Smartforms - Table frame/border width

Dear Friends,

Long story short: I am developing a smartform and inside of it there are two tables defined. My current issues are:

  • When I change the width of the frames/borders for the first table, automatically the width for the second table changes to the same value. Is there any SAP note that can fix this issue?
  • No matter how small the width that I choose is (15 TW for example, it can not be smaller that this) for my table borders width, in my printout the borders are way too big - could it be because of the printer?
  • I also have a pattern defined in my smartforms, and there are some borders defined with the same width (15TW). In the printout those borders are having the right widht while the ones for the tables don't (even if they have the same defined width). Do you have any idea why?

I've attached a screenshot in case there were things unclear.

Thanks and BR,

Cristian

When I look at your screenshot, it seems that you have define a top AND a bottom border at item level. That's why you see a "double" border for each line. Try to define only the top OR the bottom border. You can check it by changing the color of the top border for example, you should see 2 colors on the same line.

Thanks Pascal!

Indeed there was a problem with the border definition which i would never think about it .. Do you have an idea why I can not have two different widths in a smartform? what about dotted lines in borders?

Hi Cristian,

What do you mean by two tables?

In Smartforms the width is same across all pages for main window, inside which we define tables. So if you need different width for tables in Main Window, i do not think SAP allows that.

Hi Ankit,

To understand better the problem I've attached a screenshot( Two tables defined within the same window, MAIN).

I don't think either that SAP allows it. But is there a sap note or something that can fix this issue?

I can say that smartforms are not that smart

What about dotted/dashed lines? Do we have this feature in smartforms?

Thanks and BR,

Cristian

Hi Cristian,

We can have as many tables as we want in Smartform but the total width would be same for all tables. The line types can be changed for every table based on requirement.

What do you need with dotted/dashed lines? If you need borders with these , try in patterns. Shown below is where you can get pattern -
